Unique challenges face the CARICOM region with shifting trends in the global marketplace. There’s no denying greater unity, cooperation and information sharing is needed to enable business professionals within the region to gain and maintain their competitive advantage.
With this in mind, the onus is on business professionals to proactively pool their resources to strengthen community ties and advocate for measures beneficial to the community.
Certainly the relevance of the Caribbean Court of Justice in the exercise of its original jurisdiction and the furtherance of the CARICOM Single Market Economy objectives as it relates to the free movement of people are two such points in question. These are important issues which need to be brought to the forefront if the region is to fully benefit from the creative genius and intellectual competencies with which the community has been so generously endowed.
